mmmmm... wine in a box. my favorite!

Poor Heiko was crying alcoholic tears on night #2 "no alcohol, please... no liquor". Generally I don't have any sympathy for that sort of behavior  but I let him off the hook.

Tisar, don't worry, we'll get you drunk BOTH nights.

Sounds like a promise. Since it sems part of the local culture - do I have to bring my own funnel or does it come with the wine box?

At least I'll have a good excuse if I totally suck on the rocks. Like "Sure this 5.3 was completly in my comfort zone just the distorted equilibrium sense made me fall before I reached the second hold...".

Lucas, you're in! All it takes to drink with us is the ability to follow "road rules"... :D That just means that stories about things like... jumping in bushes, vomiting or peeing in the street (I don't know who does these things!) or generally being an ass cannot be told to significant others who may not be in attendance. Generally acting like an ass is, of course, mandatory.

See you in October? 8^) (Paolo75 and I leave for a 2 week climbing trip on 28.10, so pm before that!)!!

Morn' folks!

Seems that this is my time!

1.) Yesterday I got a call that I have an interview for a new job tomorrow. (Sounds interesting, so keep your fingers crossed for me!)

2.) As the weather was perfect, we got to a new concrete climbing tower in Berlin which is pretty close to my flat. What can I say... WOOOT!

It's an old bunker, just 12m high (approx. 25ft) but they managed to get some real nice structure hammered into the concrete. They even built a fist crack running from bottom to top (tried to climb it, but I sucked completely as I've never daone crck climbing before...)!

3.) Weather forecast for the weekend is pretty good. And due to some people who wanna help us giving classes in future, there's actually a good possibility that we get do some climbing done while in the quarry! Plus we plan to organize the first commercial class in September, which might help me outta my financial crisis...

I love the world!

Hey Daniel,

sounds great, crossing my fingers for you man! But if the new job means you can spend less time on rc.com, don't take it! ;-)

Where was that concrete bunker you talked about? I should really get my butt up to Berlin to visit my friends there, and knowing the cool climbing spots is a must of course. Just imagine, when I lived there a few years ago, there was not a single climbing gym in Berlin!

It's at the RAW-Gelände, Revaler Straße, just around the S-Bahnhof Warschauer Straße, respectivly Simon-Dach-Straße. It's 1 EUR entrance fee but since they have a nice beergarden, toilets etc. it definetly worth it :D

Yes you should! And dare to forget to drop me a line
How long is it that you left Berlin? At least the towers in Schöneberg , Marzahn/Hohenschönhausen and the Bunker at Gesundbrunnen date back to the Eighties...

Sounds nice. One of my friends lives near Görlitzer Park, so that's just across the river ;-)

Yeah well, at that time (1999/2000) I was only looking for indoor gyms. Rock didn't really attract me. They built Magic Mountain just after I left, if I remember correctly...
If I'll ever manage to go to Berlin, I'll surely drop you a note and we go out for cragging. It's just very hard to motivate to leave Italy for climbing in Berlin... I know, I know, I should be visiting friends...

Don't know if you heard of the second gym, t-hall, which opend up later. It´s my favorite, as the atmosphere is not as 'gym-like' as in Magic Mountain and they got structured walls instead of pure wood. (And you can smoke at the bar, which is a plus on cold winter days...)

Okaaayyy, this won't drag you to Berlin... But there's still a winter to come (hopefully late), even to Italy. And then it might by the perfect time to meet friends...
