Hi,

I'd like to known the first pitch of Moby Grape, the Reppy's Crack, is it a vertical wall or it is a little bit slabby section ?

Thx

Reppys crack is indian creek on Oxycontin. Pretty low angle splitter. Somthing about the low angle really hurts your feet though

It is probably close to 70 degrees. There is a killer bolted 5.12 to the left of it on the face; smearing and edging.

Reppy's Crack hurts your feet and it's boring. The real Moby Grape first pitch, with its run-out start, double cracks, steep headwall and final splitter makes a much better pitch, for solid 5.8 leaders. 8^)

Exactly. Now try to lead the real start in three seconds! 8^)

I am with Ambler on this one. Everyone should do Reppys once, just because it is so splitter, but it's like bubble gum; every chew is the same as the last.

The original start is more in keeping with the variety of the upper pitches.

70 degrees sounds about right from what I remember.

I thought that Genaric Crack at the creek was an exact replica (different color) of reppys but on steroids :? seemed about 93 degrees at the last pod. I like doing reppys because you don't get much of a chance to climb that kind of stuff often here in the east.

Here's a tip: Show up on a crowded weekend, watch one party after another struggle up the only handcrack in NH, and climb quickly around them via the original start.

I passed three parties one day like this, in one fell swoop. Woop!
