It is me that is "creative". That, and owning to a Sicilian potty mouth. "Sh**!" (obvious one) The big "F" word. On a cleaner note: Numerous sounds and noises including, but not limited to, flatulence. "Andy!, Oooohhh!, Hell!, Oh! NOOO! and my favorite, Waaalling!" Which was supposed to be "Watch Me!" then I fell and tried to say "Falling" and ended up with "Walling". Just to name a few.

A couple people that I climb with say "Take me baby! Take me!" (in a Texan accent)just before they're about to fall, which they got from some guys from Texas who were climbing in the Gunks. Once I also calmly said "What??" as I unexpectedly popped out of a solid hand jam and took a 20 footer after cruising the crux of the climb. Other than that, the usual profanities.

Having developed the habit back in my racing days (SCCA) I have a tendancy to mumble "This is gonna hurt..." as I peel off whatever I was trying to climb.

hmm...only taken a few, but i remember distinctly my biggest, and hardest was a double "F**K" (a long one when i missed the move, and a shorter, but more aggressive one when i smacked the wall sideways. i said "yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaa" once, and as mentioned before "walling". i wish i'd thought about it at the time, but "go go gadget copter" would have been funny

Ah! Yes, pir8. We share the "walling" experience. Wouldn't that be the proper thing to say in the first place? WALLING!!!! After all, that is what you are going to smash into in the end, right? Steve

I used to just grunt. But last weekend I was on lead on a pumping 5.10 crack. I had just placed my #6 fat cam and was about 5ft above when i lost it. I yelled falling, my partner pulled slack, the cam pop and i took and 25 footer on a #6 nut.I stop about 5 ft of the deck. Thanks partner I owe you a cold one for that.

I have only fallen about 4 times on gear, but in the gym, I used to yell, Ohh sh*t!! Falling!!! Now, it's, "Ohh fu*k, I'm gonna die, ohh sh*t, ohh sh*t...ahhhhh, I'm okay now." (after I make the move). I really don't fall anymore. TRADitionally yours, Cali Dirtbag [ This Message was edited by: addiroids on 2002-07-30 21:53 ]

First time I had a big fall on my own gear I screamed... I really screamed. There were about 10 people all watching, and I was in ear shot and view of the campsite. The sound that followed was me laughing hysterically. I was so stoked that my piece had stuck, we'd been talking about falling on our gear the day before, and chatting about how I hadn't had the privilege. I now make no sound at all. Before I fall, if I know I'm gonna fall, I obviously yell "take!" or "watch me". But as I fall into space I make no sound. My breath is usually taken away. Elk

walling is the best one, i think. that, or maybe whipping, but that sounds a lot like clipping, which leads to slack being fed. as for that near deck experience, you should mount that nut ona plaque and rub it for luck everyday.

You know you've taken a screamer when you have to take a breath partway through the fall. AARRRGHHHHH(pop)HHHHHHH(pop)HHHH(pop)HHHHHHhhhhhh (deep breath, and with renewed vigor..) AARRRGHHHHH(pop)HHHHHHH(pop)HHHH(pop)HHHH etc. [ This Message was edited by: manacubus on 2002-07-30 22:23 ]
