How many women qualified as Stone Masters back in the 70's? Was it a boys only club?

I don't beleive there were any. Tobin once introduced me to a bunch of what would become the stonemasters at a bouldering session at Rubidoux. Lynn Hill was there (HS kid) and was introduced as someones little sister. Maybe a real ex stonemaster will speak up, (Largo?) but I think that's as close as it got to a female stonemaster. Bev Johnson would qualify for skills in the same time period, but different venue.

I didn't intend it to come out that way. But, since it did  That may explain his lack of a response.

Largo, Rich Accamazzo, Richard Harrison, Tobin Sorenson (among a few others). No chicks in the original crew.

Yea, I was thinking the original crew was a boys club, but I wonder if the Stone Masters eventually included Lynn Hill or others. Also, anybody want to guess at how many females have led all of Valhalla? Clearly we need a Hollywood rendition of the Stone Masters similar to Lords Of Dogtown.

Rent the DVD "Riding Giants" it's about the emerging surfer culture. It details how the surfers not only lived the life but they also were the ones making the innoventions that surfers of today use. It reminded me of how Royal and Yvon Chouinard, Tom Frost et al. invented climbing equiment. Those guys were so lucky to be able to make a living (and eventually a great one) doing what they loved with their best friends. I did see some parallel's between "Vertical Frontier" and "Riding Giants". Carry On, Jefro
