I am planning to take a trip to potrero chico soon and l wanted to find to the tallest, funnest climbs possiblle with a crux of 5.10 or below. there are so many routes in the data base is almost too much (but not quite) none the less i thought perhaps i could call upon the experience of you all to send me to the right climbs

Nothing quite as big as the Timewave but in the last year there are a few new 6 pitch routes, Dope Ninja, Pancho Villa Rides Again and Jungle Fever. I'm currently working on Voodoo Trance which looks like it will go around 9 pitches. Stay tuned...

I was thinking of showing up on either tuesday or wednessday of next week (october 25 or 26th 2005) i was curious if we are likely to have to wait for the climbs that were recomended such as Estrellita, treasure of the sierra madre, or jungle fever and how long is a typical wait. also, what time would we need to arrive to have a reasonable chance of being first? i have no idea what sort of traffic to expect mid week

There are only about a dozen climbers here at this time so you will not have any trouble getting on one of the routes you are interested in.

If you're climbing solid 5.10 at most crags - than you can probably climb up to 5.11b pretty easily at Potrero. It depends on the specific climbs of course, but overall it's pretty soft with LOTS of bolts. BTW this is not me complaining, i love it there. Just commenting.

Has anyone driven to the border and parked their car and walked across the border to catch a mexican bus to Hidalgo? Is there a direct from NL to Hidalgo? Price? or is it worth it to drive your own car?

Hey, For $20.00 you can take the bus from Laredo Texas to Monterrey and then for $2.00 take the Mina bus line to Hidalgo. PM me if you need more info. Cheers
