Is this place for real? Does someone know directions here? I've not heard of it before and the original submitter hasn't logged in since september.

Use the access for the plunge, at wintergreen resort. Tell anyone that asks that you are hiking.

I went there over Christmas break, I will be posting more info soon. Unfortunately the page is locked so I can't make any changes to the main page.

Any other info? I'm thinking about heading that way this weekend. I know where the plunge is...where is the wall in relation to that?

Is this Wintergreen Ski Resort? I am going to be there this weekend and would love to check it out (Jan21-23). Any info would be greatly appreciated. Can you park in the Plunge Parking lot and just get on the trails?

Thanks S.

Okay here's quick directions. I don't know where the Plunge is.
The rocks are at Blackrock Park, down the trail.
Take a right after the convenience store ( Blackrock drive ). Take another right on Blackrock Circle. The park will be on your right.
I will try to post pics and more info tonight.

Could someone in the area bring a camera the next time you visit and take a quick pic of the face to include on the site? Also, I just unlocked the area so if you know more information about the area, feel free to add it to the site. Thanks to ericbelayer for letting me know that this was a problem as I missed the fact that the area was locked.

Does anyone know if you have to be a renter or owner in order to use the trails/rocks in the area. My son went to a comp they had advertised a couple years ago that was run by the rec company that's part of Wintergreen Resort (he's the only one that showed up!). We were given a pretty hard time by the guard at the entrance station when telling him why we were there...

Not too bad of rock but I'd rather climb at other places around the area...though maybe it's better than I remember...

Just tell the guard you're visiting (or hiking).
I was not impressed by the quality of rock there, it's not chossy but if I remember correctly there is a lot of lichen, and the climbs are not that great.

That's my recollection too. There was a decent .8 and .10 - don't know about any of the rest of the climbs. I think I remember it being very sharp and crystaline too (granite?) - the kind you don't want to fall on unless it's overhung.

I have never given this spot a chance, but decided to do a little recon today with my pad and shoes hoping to do some bouldering. I was personally impressed by the quality of some of the routes... at least what I could tell from the ground. Much better than anything else in the area imho. I got some pics of many of the routes, but I didn't find everything and only positive I've Id'd 4-5 of the routes. Not knowing what the status is up there, it's probably best I leave the pic's off the site for now until after I contact cvilleguide. Shoot me a message if you are familiar with the area and can help me id some routes I have pic's of.

I do now several people who lived up there in the recent past who use to climb up there. I should have met up with them previously when I had a chance.
