Hello all... I'm planning a visit to Sydney in mid-December to check out the scene there and squeeze in as much climbing as I can WITH OUT a car. I am looking for recommendations for inexpensive places to stay that are within close proximity to good climbing. I can bring a tent... especially if that means I save a lot of money, but the conveniance of travelling light would be very nice. I have the option of bringing a b- pad, trad rack and/ or sport rack, so I am game for anything. For the record, V4-5 and routes up to 19-20 are about the max I'm looking for.. though I'm always up for a few good falls! Thanks in advance for any and all input on my adventure! - Matt Natti

If your going to stay in downtown Sydney, Eva's Backpackers is a great place to stay. It is cheap, clean, and serves free breakfast. Katoomba is in the Blue Mnts. and has several good hostels too, and there is some good climbing up there also. Not sure of the ratings, I didn't get the chance when I was there. Hope this helps
