Now that someone mentioned it. I'd be interested in going to the gym friday or saturday. I was actually hoping to get out side this weekend. I'm down here in southern CT, I usually go to "Go Vertical." I was hoping to go in the morning.

Prime Climb this Tuesday from 6:00-9:00pm is having a shoe demo, I think Red Chili, 5.10, and la sportiva will be there. I'll be there with some folks if anyone needs a belay partner
Now if they are just carrying demo shoes in the larger sizes I need
you know what they say about a man with big feet right?

they have a hard time finding climbing shoes :)

hi, just thought i'd pop in and say hi. I'm in eastern CT but I haven't been doing much climbing lately, no partner. So tonight I went over to Ollies in Mystic for some bouldering. Had a great time. Then I end up online, and what do I find, 14 pages of people inCT looking to climb!!
I dont have alot of experience, but I do have quite a bit of top rope gear, and a brand new rope. I've climbed at Wolf quite a few times, and been to a few other areas around. I'll keep watching, and if this weather ever stops, hopefully get out climbing with some of you peeps

Eastern CT here. Been climbing on and off for about 6 years now. Trad, sport, TR, gym. Anyway, always looking for more partners.

Work at EMS in Waterford, and have random days off. Looking mostly for weekday partners, for outdoor, indoor, or Gunks trips.

Hey guys, I'm from Hartford CT but go to school in NY. I'll be coming home for thanksgiving break (Nov 18th- early Dec) and am looking to do some climbing.

I've been climbing since January and climb around 5.10 although I'd climb anything under that.

I have my own harness, variety of biners + webbing.

I'd be interested in bouldering, sport and toperope, although i have never lead sport or cleaned sport. I also have very little experience in setting up toprope anchors. I'd be more than willing to learn though.

So if weather permits I'd love to do some climbing, let me know.

hey all,
Went to Ross Rock yesterday, it was an interesting experience. Due to the moisture in the area, the rock had all kinds of fracture lines and blocks and sharp edges. Lots of climbing, pretty pumpy and steep in areas. Definitely has potential but not enough traffic. Rock is pretty licheny and dirty in areas, gear is pretty good though, LOTS of potential for hard climbing past the big slab. Interested in seeing what the place looks like in winter, cause water was seeping out of ALOT of places. Maybe there is M11 to be had in CT?
Alot of garbage sadly though.
roofs reminiscent of the gunks
It was fun checking the place out anyway

Yeah, Ross Pond is pretty good, I use to live 20 minutes from it. There's alot of hard climbs there, some wicked hard cracks, and some good face climbs. It doesn't really get ice in the winter. There's also a huge roof in the back past where everyone climbs that i don't think has been climbed yet. Let me know next time you want to go I'll show you around.

but I don't think there is going to be a next time in the forseeable future
too far for not enough, if I drive the same distance in the opposite direction, only another 20 minutes will put me at the gunks

I went to Ragged today for a little while
It was too cold for rock climbing
Climbed May Crack, and then for a hoot, I lead Wiessner Slab all passive. It was tons of fun, no cams to worry about, just some stoppers and 2 tricams, I recommend it to everyone.
My first lead ever was all passive, but I was already too scared out of my wits to really enjoy it.
I really enjoyed it.
Has anyone else here decide to rock it out old school and leave the cams on the ground?

I'm moving to connecticut mid january this year (2006), and i need to findsome people to go climbing with. I'm not really to experienced with leading (only lead one route) but i want to learn. I've been climbing about 2 years now mostly indoors.
I Just bought a set of ice axes online. I used to live in colorado and visited ouray ice park multiple times. I would like to get out and do some ice climbint/mountaineering if any of you are up for it. Mt washington maybe?

What's the matter with us CT folk? Do we lock our selves inside at the first sign of snow. I don't see any posts about ya'll ice climbing in VT or NH. (except for that post right befre this one, Duh...) I personally don't... due to the start up cost and the fact that I'm still working on my rock skills.

I plan on taking a couple days in VT after the holidays for a little down time. After all the holiday B$ I need to get away from it all, literally...
Maybe I'll posts some pics... Any if any of you have stories/pics about your hiking/snowshoeing/skiing, whatever. Feel free to share.

Sean
