On each forum page appear the title of the thread, the name of the author, the date of the last post... Could, in addition to the name of the author of the thread, the date of the first post appear too? By example in the same column as the author and underneath the name (like the last post, which provides a username and a date)... thomas

I'm just surprised no mod or admin answered this topic. By example, I just clicked on a thread echoing on the FP : this thread is about Fred Nicole and a 5.15. I read 2 pages, then realised it was a thread started in April... Of course, no info appears on the FP but the title of the thread. But if I had seen this thread in its own forum front page, I could have known it was an old topic... IF the date of the 1rst post was mentionned, which is not the case... ANyone?

(jumping up and down) I´m someone!! I´m someone!! Choose me! Choose me!!! Ehem. I like the idea since it would spare a lot of noobs the embarassment of resurrecting threads from the paleolythic (sp) era, but on the downside it would take away the fun of watching noobs resurrecting dumb argument threads from a century ago. (ps: yes I know I´m a noob here as well)

Never underestimate the power of n00bs in large groups. This might be more fanciful, but: maybe one of the smart guys could whip up a little something that pops up a small window alerting a would-be resurrector that s/he is about to bump a thread however many months, or years, old? Click "OK" is you really must add your erudite, belated brain nugget, but at least we warned you?

Click "OK" is you really must add your erudite, belated brain nugget, but at least we warned you? Congratulations climbsomething, they liked your suggestion, and it works! To a point, of course. BTW, this is the oldest post I've been able to find on this entire site... anyone top this(nevermind.) Which leads to the next question... anyone else wonder what some of the posters from that era are doing today? How many of them still climb? Hell, most of them haven't logged in for several years... are they still alive?Maybe they spent too much time following the wrong advice, not enough time reading stuff from the old-folks home. Or perhaps they've changed login-names and started a new identity from scratch. Quit climbing and took up knitting? (for that matter, is SHE still around?) Quit following the flame-fests? Probably never know. Probably better that way, though.
