Yeah, my girlfriend has some, and DAMN are they nice. So easy to flip the rope in. I was in heaven when I first used them. What's your favorite?

i prefer the wire gate biners and if the notch on the end is the thing that makes the spirits the thing then check out the wirelock by DMM those are my favorite even though i dont have them... they are a bit pricey i use BD hotwires

I absolutley love spirits, They make cleaning sport routes easier since they can slide out of the chains or cold shuts with out the little notch in the nose catching. They also clean off of overhanging routes alot easier than regular biners.

Now that I think about it, the Spirits did clean quite well. One more thing in a list of many that make them nice.

By lucky coincidence, my shop got new Spirit gates in just before I was getting ready to buy a few for an upcoming trip. I tried them on the gym wall and they were very easy to use, however the gym owner said I'll be spoiled since i have none others to relate them to.(my first set of "pro"). One question, does it matter which way the beiners are set in the quickdraw? They came from Petzl mixed but the gym owner seems to think they should all be opposed.

Most of the ones I've seen are opposite, but I don't know of that has anything to do with strength. There HAS to be a reason, but I sure don't know it right now.

I've set up a topic on this: cis or trans? (I think it's in General or in Technique)
