Yeah, its hard to beat Boone as far as lots of good bouldering around one pretty cool town. The only problems with Boone are the rain and the traffic...

I would have to say it is a toss up between the Halifax area and Castle Hill Basin. Halifax has the whole Dover Island beachside bouldering on granite, and Castle Hill has greasy limestone with soft, grassy landings. I would give LCC, Ibex, and other Utah areas a shot though, but I am biased.

I would do the entire west coast. I live in Windsor ON (across the river from Detroit). So I think it would go something like this: Leave here, drive south. Hit the Red (i know not bouldering). drive south some more Hit HP 40. Head to Hueco for a while, head south to Potrero Chico (rope up/ boulder). Head back to the states, maybe try New Mexico, Do AZ, Priest Draw, Jacks Canyon, bump over to Josh, Hit Vegas baby (Red Rocks bouldering kicks ass). Travel north to Bishop, Hit up Lake Tahoe, bump over to Utah, check out out Ibex, Joes and what ever else. Then maybe back to Bishop. From Bishop to the North Coast of Cali. Hit lost rocks, humboldts county. Follow the ocean up north, climb what ever i could find in Oregon and Washington. Hit B.C. Squamish, Pemberton. Go to Vancouver island. Horne Lake for sport climbing. Hit Tofino for surfing, and bouldering. Back to the mainland maybe hit Squamish again and keep going east. Climb though out the Rockies. Hit Canmore climbing at bow valley etc. Get on the plane in Calgary Fly Europe. Bouldering in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria. Hook up with a really good truck and work my way through Europe, throught the Middle East, down through Africa Climbing everywhere Ulitmately ending up in South Africa. Fly to Austrailia. Climb& Surf Austrailia for a while. Bump to New Zealand. climb New Zealand. Then up to The south Pacific, Thailand, Philipianes, Veitnam. Do Japan, China, boulder the Great wall! Hit Napal, do the Everets Base Camp hike, after that head down south to India and hit Hampi. After all that I think I would like to go home, fly from India back home.

Bishiit would definitely be the last place on my list.... total choss pile. But if I had unlimited funds I would create a giant weather-changing device and make it an endless fall in Leavenworth, Washington - definitely the best kept secret in the universe - except nobody's keeping it secret! 8^)

sorry for the giant n00b question, but where exactly is bishop? I see it mentioned all over this forum, but I cant find any reference other than the name. I just started climbing a few months ago, but im already going to do a road trip for about a month in april, and this bishop place sounds interesting :)

Depending on the winter Bishop can still be snow covered in April. That early in the year J Tree would be very nice.

That early in the year J Tree would be very nice. yeah, but aside from the buttermilks which might get snowed out from time to time, the happies and sads only get snowed for a week a year (if that). If a storm bombs out Bishop, there is a good chance it is rained out in JT.
