Me and my climbing partner (not on rc.com) are considering going to Toulumne Meadows for an extended weekend trip, for the above days... Anyone have any suggestions for where to stay/anyone wanna meet up/stuff - reply below, and stuff... I've never been to the valley, my partner has on several occations... And, of course, anyone who'd like to show up, would be more than welcome (by me, anyways.. - d. [ This Message was edited by: sauron on 2002-08-13 15:16 ]

For reasons beyond my control I will be leaving to go back home to Ohio on the 22nd. Damn sorry I'm not going to get to meet you. My biggest suggestion is to climb Tenaya Peak in Tuolumne, its easy and VERY rewarding. If you could use any other info pm me and I'll be happy to help you out in any way I can.

No sweat Dom, she wants to know where her money is though. And she's done with the dressing you in diapers bit. Says she can't watch you degrade yourself like that anymore.

Sauron (a.k.a. the Dark Lord of Mordor), I most likely won't be in the meadows on those dates, but if you want, let me know what you are looking to do , I can provide some advice on suited routes. Of course, the regular on Fairview is always fun (one of the 50 classic climbs according to some guy). As to where to stay, the meadows campground has half the spots reserved for same day, so you might have some luck there. Otherwise, you can go over Tioga and exit the park and camp on the side of the road anywhere. Lake Ellery has some flat spots by the dam that are suitable for a bivy. Also, if you feel like OB camping, you can park in the Daff area and hike for about 15 minutes up and to the west. If you are lowkey, it is unlikely that any of the Rangers will find you. Finally, if you feel like it, you can go down to 395 and head toward Mammoth, then head out east and find a hot tub to camp by. It is about an hour out of the park, but the tubs are killer at night. Have fun [ This Message was edited by: hallm on 2002-08-16 12:58 ]

Dominic- I'm going to be in Tuolumne Aug24-31. My partner and I are mainly going to do mellow stuff: Cathedral Peak, Tenaya Peak, etc. Drop me an email and we'll hook up and do some climbs! Cheers.
