My Friends and I are planning to go climbing on Mt. Russell and Keeler needle I was wondering what the snow pack would be like the third week in July any tips would be great thanks.

If you can forecast how much snow the Eastern Sierra will get between now and then, you can get a decent idea. You may want crampons/ice axes for part of the approach, or you may not need them at all. Who knows? Check back a month or two before your trip and you'll get a much better idea of what kind of snow/ice conditions to expect. I have similar plans for the summer, with Whitney also added to the tic list. Which route on Russel are you planning on doing?

We are definitely doing mithral probably fishhook as well we'll have 3 days of climbing so probably something else.

I would think that most years you would be ok by the 3 week of July.
