So who is heading up to Boston for the Mammut Bouldering Championships and what class are you participating in?

I am personally competing in the Male Beginner class since I have only been climbing a little over 3 months and this is my first comp. It will be nice to see where I stand and it will be a good benchmark to see how I progress, but most of all it will be fun to meet some new people and climb some unfamiliar routes.

For those of you who have prior comp knowledge I have a few questions:

1. When do I get to see the routes? I am assuming I don't get to see them until it is time for me to climb them?

2. Is the beginner division too advanced for someone who can consistently do v2s and v3s? And is this division broken out into ages?

I hope to see some of you there! :)

So, how'd you do today? I didn't enter, I just watched my daughter. She was in the the junior division and totaled 190 points. I thought a lot of the beginner problems were very reachy. That was the only thing that stopped her today. I was very proud!

I tell you, though, it was hard being there and not climb. I didn't want to drop another $40 for me to compete, though.

They definetly were. But the setters said you were intendend to use the features on the rock and what not. But never the less i am amazed you daughter could total 190

Yeah, now that i look at your profile again, that definitely wasn't you. I know I must have seen you, but for the life of me can't remember. I was too caught up in what Dakotah was doing. I kind of wish I competed yesterday (especially since the gym is closed today due to snow).
