I am thinking of going to Cochise Stronghold, AZ and I cant find a guide to this area. Does anyone know where to get a guide book?
Backcountry Rock Climbing in Southern Arizona by Bob Kerry is out of print. Is there anything else out there?

I think it is back in print. I special ordered a book last spring (I don't have it in front of me) that had a title like "Back country climbs in AZ". It tooks weeks for it to be delivered (and even though it took weeks to be delivered, they still sent it overnight and charged me for the higher shipping, uh, thanks guys).

But even with this book, there is a lot of new stuff at Cochise that isn't in the book.

"Rock Climbing Arizona" by Stuart M. Green is a good book that covers alot of the popular routes, but is not as extensive as "Backcountry Climbs ...". Also, I know that REI currently stocks "Rock Climbing Arizona", so it may be easier to get a copy.

It seems the only thing available at this time is the Falcon Rock Climbing Arizona Guidebook. Found it on Amazon.

The BackCountry Guide is out of print.

here is a link so you can see what it is though.

Start checking out the Cochise section of MountainProject.com:

It's pretty thin right now but will be growing rapidly when more people hear about the site.

I have been looking for it as well for a while on this site. No luck. They are not available. i have looked for used copies and there was one available in the world...Australia and it was the 92 edition. 60 bucks plus really expensive shipping.

I have given up, seems like the best beta is found online

Yup, the Kerry guide is out of print.
Rock climbing Arizona is your only option.
There may be another guide out some day, but it won't be out for quite a while, if ever. I personally don't think we need a guide. Keeps the crowds down....hehe

Oh, if you want any info on routes, grade choices, let me know. I spend a lot of time out there. I also have the Kerry guide...

It might be worth stopping in to Summit Hut in Tucson and looking at the store copy of the Kerry guide. Using the Falcon guide is asking to get lost and epic in my opinion (experience... )
