My boyfriend and I are going to France in late August/early September. We plan to mix sightseeing with climbing, and are hoping for some beta on camping in the southern and south-eastern regions. Do we need permits? Are their particularly good guidebooks for the region? Should we not plan to camp and just stay in hostels? Any help or information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello It's possible to camp but quite impossible to do "wild" camp ( there are plenty private properties ) the best thing is to go to a small town where there is a "Camping municipal" ( camp runs by the town ) Generally ,the farest you are from the sea the cheapest it is .Take care some 4stars camps are very expensive (large hassles for everything) This link can help you http://campsites.hpaguide.net/ Have a good trip
