Spring is coming and you know what that means:

Petra's 8th annual climbing and bouldering competition, the Crux Fest! This year, the Crux Fest is scheduled to be Saturday, April 22nd.

For those of you who haven't been to Petra, it is located in Springfield, Missouri. And for those of you who haven't been to our Crux Fest, read on-- As always, competitors should expect good live music, good free dinner, good free raffle gear, and a great bunch of new routes and and new people to spend the day getting to know.

More information will be available and posted here shortly. For now, mark your calendars, and get training.

Any questions can either be sent to me here on RC, or you can call up at Petra, (417) 866-3308. This entire event is always a blast, and we hope to see y'all there.

The April 22nd Crux Fest competition will cost
$25 without a shirt
$30 with a shirt
and if you pre-register (by April 15th) take $5 off the fee. (I.e. $20
without a shirt, $25 with a shirt).

The under 19 competitor check-in will be from 11:30 am-12:30 pm,
and the competition will be from 1:00-4:00 pm.
The under 19 competitors will be divided by age, usually into the groups of under 11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, and 18-19, and by gender within these age groups.

The over 19 competitor check-in will be from 12:30-1:30 pm,
and the competition will run from 2:00-5:00 pm.
The over 19 competitors will pick their competing group: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced.

It will be a redpoint competition, with climbers receiving the most points possible by sending a route their first try, and slightly less for each try after that. The final score will be the sum of the climber's top 3 roped-route scores, and top 2 boulder problem scores.

If you can't register at Petra, feel free to register over the phone (417) 866-3308. For waiver forms, go to www.petrarockgym.com

See you there!
