this is a call for photos of missouri climbing areas. a new guide is coming "soon", and needs action photos of you fine folks doing that climbing thing. i need photos from anywhere around columbia, the jeff city area, truman lake, trappers camp, reeds bluff. i'm not looking for junk like butt shots, shots of your climbing gear, etc. what i am looking for are shots from a variety of people, photos that highlight the quality climbing, display the nature of an area, etc. so this is your one chance to get in a guide book. you could be, like, famous, and stuff. if you have something i might be looking for, please contact me through pm and be prepared to send it my way via electronic means. one last thing, i have no female friends (something about being ugly), so i especially needs photos of the ladies climbing. thanks all ben williams

http://www.rockclimbing.com/...rID=kappydane&mode=2 Some Wilton ones are in the mix. Only butt shot is a FFA. Darth Aider and the Big Roof were early attempts to lead free. Both later lead freed by Eric Forney. And Darth Aider was subsequently BOLTED next to the crack to avoid the air time we logged trying to lead it clean. It was lead without the extra bolts. Yes, with EB's and placing friends while laybacking!

has there been enough development in central/western mo to necesitate a new guide, or will it just be more comprehensive than "limestone select"?

joek, i think there's been enough done to need a new guide. limestone select featured about 200 routes, this will be around 500, maybe 600 if anything else is included. do you frequent the areas being covered? planning on picking up a copy? kappydane, fear not, darth aider is now as proud as it once was. all the retro work has been removed. and the original aid line has gone free as well. you should make a comeback tour sometime.

kappydane, my memory is poor. please remind me about your ascent of the route you called "kc crack". did you actually ever top that route out? as i remember your story, there may have been a stall-out over the roof on a ledge? did you ever go back and finish? also, i've had reports that aid roof and topout were actually first freed by jeff lowe on a one time visit in '78. do you have other info? thanks.
