The R.O.C.K. Trad-athlon Competition, to be held at the Vertical Edge Climbing Center on March 24, 2006, will consist of three individual events and one 2-person team event addressing important trad climbing skills; Rappel, Ascend, Belay Escape, and Team Traverse. Prizes for the Trad-athlon competitive events are provided by the Great Outdoor Provision Company.
The evening's other activities will include slacklining, a belayer auction, a silent auction of climbing gear, outdoor sports equipment, and other valuable merchanise and services, and door prizes. Old Habits will perform live bluegrass music. Other sponsors include REI, The Trail Shop, and Townsend Bertram and Company.
Join in as a competitor, have a ball, and win some prizes. If you're not competing, there's still plenty of fun in store for all – cheer on the competitors, slackline, bid for a belayer, win a door prize or two, take home terrific booty from the silent auction and enjoy great bluegrass music.
