This was my first winter backpacking trip, and my first glacier travel trip.

Looks like you had outstanding weather!

I hiked up to the top of McGinnis once for the view and only knew I'd toped out because there was no more up and the GPS said I was there.

Not much of a view.

Scared the crap out of some tourists off the cruise ship though where the trail goes up thru the willow thicket at the overlook. They thought a bear was after them. Jumping on the willow branches and making growling noises probably didn't help much.

guy i know got married on that glacier cuz his last name is mendenhall.
