I was wondering how far Mississippi Palisades from Homer/Lockport/Orland and what kind of rack should I bring.

It is about the same distance to Devil's Lake from the South Side. The place is somewhat of a chosspile. What kind of gear to bring? Bring all of it.

cams are handy, but passive gear is essential at palisades. Tri-cams seem to work really great, esspecially in the pocketed limestone. But it is chossy so be carefull of placing gear in loose stone. But its a greatplace to climb for being reatively close. Enjoy the park

Use google maps, it is near savanna il. that is right against the mississippi river in NW IL. it is going to be about a 2 and a half hour drive from lockport. google maps has you take I 88 not 80
