1) there are at least a half dozen people from the Carolinas alone on here

2) go to http://CarolinaClimbers.org (or the SCC for that matter) and compare the level of activity with here

It is pretty goddamned hot in the SE right now... not sure if I'd want to be out climbing if I was down in the Piedmont or even around Asheville... but, YMMV

should pick up again in a month or two.

I'm climbing every weekend, and sometimes taking days off during the week. I'll be at Foster Falls a few days the first week of Sept. Come down and join me if you can make it.

Do you consider Kentucky South East?

There are a few of us from North Carolina. I don't know about the others but this time of year I probably do more paddling than climbing.

Kentucky is SE. It is also far from being to hot to climb. so you sweat alittle more

Lurkers (until now) from the Southeast here as well. For me, Red River Gorge is the northermost point of the southeast, but well worth the 5 1/2 hours it takes to get there. I'm headed up that way again in the next 3 weeks or so.

Hell yes, KY is part of the Southeast. They need to change the partner finder thing. Kentucky part of the Mid-West? I think not...

I'm always climbing at pilot or moore's wall.

I work for the adventure center at ECU and we take trips there all the time or just go whenever we feel like it.

I suggest wailing wall and head-jam at moore's. Great climbs.

It is rather hot as balls right now but if ya get there early the climbings great.

later...

I'm in the South Carolina, and IT IS HOT!! I love climbing, but around here in the summer it's a much better time do do some paddeling. The plus is that in the winter is not too cold to climb, unlike high in the Rockies.
