Blue Mounds near Luverne, MN, is about 180 miles, and is probably the closest established climbing location you'll find. I recall as a young lad running around on some cliffs in northeast Nebraska - somewhere in the vicinity of Ponca, NE (west of Sioux City), but I couldn't tell you exactly where it was. The rock was similar to Blue Mounds, but more fractured, I think. Someday when I'm home visiting my parents I'll figure out where that place was.
