Does anybody know how to get a hold of the Carver Climbing Club? I would like to contact them to try and get some legal help for setting up another climbing area. Thanks.

Yep... The property owners want information about other climbing clubs on private property in the area, and the example I gave was Carver. However, my problem is that I have no idea how to get a hold of the people who started the Carver Climbing Club. The only contact that I know of is PRG, and the last time I went there, it didn't seem that they had to much information about the CCC at all, but I guess I should had of just given that a shot before posting here. I am also working with the Access Fund for help with the legal issues. But, assuming that PRG has no idea how to get a hold of the CCC, dose anybody else know? I didn't find any link to them on the route data base, and did some searching elsewhere on the Internet and found nothing other than some short video of some dude climbing a V4 on the boulders below. So I am out of ideas.

I was just interested because my son's name is Carver, but I looked in the RDB and it said:
In reply to: General Information: The climbs at the Carver Bridge Cliff provide great opportunities for the local sport or tradtional climbers. Many area classics like "Smerk"(11a sport), "Angular Motion"(12a sport), and "Chariots of Fire"(11c trad) are well worth your time and effort. In order to climb at the Carver Bridge Cliffs, you must be a member of the Carver Climbing Club. To become a member, just cruise on down to the Portland Rock Gym, sign a waiver, and pay a one time fee of $5.00 and you are a member for life. Have you asked down at the gym, then? Sounds like some kind of "shell corporation" BS to me, but whatevah.

I didn't realize there was a Carver Climbing Club! I paid the $5 dollars and signed the waiver at PRG, but I understood the $5 to be a PRG administration fee (to pay for liability forms and employee time). Talk to Gary directly (who at PRG did you talk to?) and then try the landowner. As I understand it the landowner doesn't want to be contacted directly (this is what I was told when I signed the waiver). Best of luck! Post up what you find. Ken

Taylor, call 503.232.8310 and ask for Gary (Rall). If he wasn't the very person who set that up, he should be able to guide you on that journey. Tell him Bill says hi will you.

Hey, thanks for all the help. I called PRG and got a hold of Gary on Monday, we talked for like 45 minutes about climbing in Portland. He was a really cool guy. We are getting together tomorrow (Saturday) and I am going to show him the place, and we are going to go from there. Looks like we might need a Lawyer to help come to an agreement with the property owners about creating a new waiver. Any volunteres? Gary gave me a copy of the CCC waiver as well as a copy of the PRG waiver to show the property owners to give them a little more info. If anybody has any other ideas about documents I could show them that would be helpful please PM me and let me know. I can use all the help I can get. Also, PRG takes 8 bucks, not 5. Dirty, lieing little...taking all my money....
