I have not checked out the links already given. However, I'll add this Wild Country Friends and Camming
topic from their FAQs. Really good, easy to read info.

Edit: Checked out rgold's links. Plenty more engineering details in those than in the Wild Country link. For those fairly light in engineering/physics then perhaps read the Wild Country link first?
