A rock slide about 12 miles west of the park has closed Hwy 140 indefinitely. See the article on Newsday for more information.

wow! thats a lot of rock! I guess that means that 120 will be a little more crowded :) Actually, I suppose 120 sees more traffic anyways, as thats probably the route most people take from the Bay Area. Speaking of roads, Tioga pass is still closed with no estimated opening date. Kevin

Wow... cool. Now if we can get some rocks on the west 120 entrance, and I dunno, maybe break-up the road a bit on the soute 41 entrance... we could have a whole summer of Yose without tourons. On a sad note, I saw that the hermetically-sealed sedentary Amtrack tour will be cancelled because of the slide.
