...I must say are very well behaved.
When they go ravaging through your pack to get your beef jerky or powerbars, they are nice enough to open the zipper, instead of chewing through the nylon.
I'm not sure how they exactly knew where to look, but they did.
So, if you are leaving your packs at the base of Wind Tower, be aware, there are some smart little critters

HaHa! I was out at City of Rock this past week. We had the car open and were loading all the camping gear. I looked up and in jumped a chipmunk. I had to chase him out. Then while I was sitting in the car he jumped back in on the drivers seat them crawled all around looking for something of interest to take. I find it kind of funny. They are cute but can be very annoying when you have to chase them around the campsite because they stole the scrubber sponge.

I was ready to resort to lacing some food with D-Con until someone showed me the same trick.
BTW, they ate my zipper - I'm glad they spared yours. All to get to my toilet paper!!?????!!! Go figure.

At the bottom of wind ridge I spent more time battling chipmunks then belaying, and they still got my clif bar. I came so close to getting one with a rock... little bastards!

It's not the food they take that pisses me off, it's their ability to run up the blank section of wall right next to me on the route.

DECOY FOODS -- McDONALDS WORKS WELL --- Till they figure out that the big mac is made from chipmunk meat and they chew through your rope while you are leading a tough pitch on trad -- or they steal your ham sammich (which is punishable by chipmunk death)
