In the wake of the the finger pointing and moralizing that surrounds the Inglis/Sharp controversy, this latest twist revels a little more of the story, this time with pictures For the full story, www.stuff.co.nz

Personally I think it's a sad reflection on mountaineering that this Sharp/Inglis stuff gets 100 times as much press as the deaths of Jean-Christophe Lafaille and Doug Coombs.

It's amazing that these guys are still trying to give excuses for letting him die. Every single climber who walked past Sharp knew they were crossing a line by not helping him, yet here they are saying he was "beyond help." Bullsh*t. As a post-script; even if he was beyond help, the fact that they didn't do everything they could to help him is something that no one can come up with an excuse for. and thanks for the link sc.

I don't have any high mountaneering experience so I can't judge if the "excuses" for not helping David Sharp are acceptable or not. But then I read this kind of thing: http://www.everestnews.com/...ns/brice05312006.htm
In reply to: We also have seen several reports on the news wires where 'climbers" state that rescues never have occurred up high on Everest. Climbers stating that it is impossible. Just false. Hard to say if these statements are due to lack of knowledge or just more sugar.... Anyway, for those of you new to Everest, several climbers has been left for dead over the years, with the worse case in our opinion being "Fran" in 1998. Several rescues have occurred up high. Here is one from the past for you where a guide and a client from Brice's team was rescued by others.... And I start thinking that the problem is that being a summiteer is more important than a fellow climber's life.
