Well, I'm headed to Southern MD for work next week and I'll be out there thru the 7th. I have Friday, June 30th off, so that gives me at least a 3-day weekend. I may even be able to skip Monday and make it a 5-day weekend with the July 4th holiday. I've never climbed outside of California and I'd love to see what the NRG is all about. Anyone planning on heading there during those dates that wants to partner up and show me around? I can bring gear if I need to. I prefer trad, but will climb whatever. I can cruise cracks and slabs, but suck at overhangs. I can generally lead up into the 10s and follow or TR 11s. How is the weather this time of year? Where should I camp? Reservations necessary to camp? If you're interested, either post here, PM, or e-mail tradmonkey at gmail dot com. Thanks, Adam

I may be out there for three or four days then also. Having moved here from CA I can tell you that you are in for some different (and great) climbing than you are used to! I'm not a NRG expert, but camping should be ok, check out Rogers or Chestnut or any of the raft guide campgrounds. It will most likely be hot and humid and probably rain a little, but there are usually dry places to climb if you find some steep areas. The shop in Fayetteville has had good recommendations as to where to climb when it's raining. I'll keep in touch and let you know if I am heading out there or not.
