Next week I will be going to Boulder from ND and would like some info on where to find some good sport routes. My limit is in the 10a *for now :)* and I will have some one with me that is relativly new to climbing out doors so if there is any place that has a good range of begginer routes I would like to know. If you have any good beta on where to start I would love to hear it. Thanks! ~Mike

Boulder Canyon, Eldorado Canyon, Flat Irons. Stop at Neptune Mountaineering ie employ the climbing bums. They will have a ton of info for you. There on Table Mesa and Broadway.

Definitely boulder canyon. Also check out Clear Creek canyon. It is on route 6 about a half hour south of boulder. Fun bouldering on Flagstaff mountain. Eldo and the flatirons are mostly traditional areas and don't really have anything bolted in the 10a and under range. have fun!

There are no 5.10 or under climbers in Boulder. As such, the easiest routes reflect this overwhelming strength. 5.11 is the easiest grade within a 16 mile radius of Pearl St.

Now what have you done. They don't call him angry for nothing. Seriously, to the OP: Boulder Canyon has plenty of sport 5.10s and under. Check out the relevant sections on http://www.mountainproject.com for details on the various routes. Dan

Clear creek will be your best bet: Lil Eiger High-wire Highlander CatSlab Also Boulder canyon will be good to: Avalon Sherwood forest Riviera Dream Canyon (I won't mention the Sport Park.. oops I did) No 10'S? Plenty around (but may need to push into mid 10's)..

If you end up going to BC grab a guide book and check out Animation at the Animal World. It's a must do 5.9 that is more like 5.8. If you're climbing 5.10a consistantly then you can probably climb 10c in BC or maybe even 10d if you really go at it. Also if you have a problem with nudists don't go to Dream Canyon. I've seen alot of bare asses up there lately.
