I think it's a funny shot too but probably not as lame as it looks.
After all, the first piece is redundant and the fact of having the extra rope out dramatically reduces the fall factor if big boy blows a placement.

The "finger" rock is phallic enough, but with the guy bunched up and dangling off the tip like that... in the thumbnail, it looks like a "head."

So this photo was taken over a year ago and just recently he decides "Hey that was a sweet shot taken when I was changing that light bulb a year ago, it really showed of my ladder climbing skillz, I think Ill go dig that up and post it on rc.com." I mean why must every photo be accepted other than to provide laughs for some of us?

What we really need is a picture of the belayer. If it's a hot Swedish chick in a bikini, it's definitely Gunther.
