My car was broken into at the Neeldles Lookout parking area yesterday ( 6/23/06 ). They smashed the driver's side window with a rock, stole the radio and ~$35 in cash. It could have been worse, I had a lot of gear in the trunk they didn't get. Margy's car and a pick up truck, also in the parking area, seemed OK.
I Never thought that would happen there. Beware...

Well, dammit, what an awful thing to have happen at such a beautiful place. Really super sorry to hear that this happened to you. Amazingly, my partner (from Texas) and I (from Virginia) finished our first visit to the Needles on the 23rd (were down at Voodoo Dome doing WPOD on the 21st). We had such a fine time - no one else in sight, and just 2 other rope teams camped at the nearby site....
