Why does this forum exist? This forum has developed out of the EuroFreaks thread in the International Partners Forum created by our much-loved booger (formerly known as girldrifter). This thread gathered almost 1500 posts and 32.000 accesses in less than a year. For this reason, RC.com decided to give the Europe-related climbing and community topics its own forum. When should I post in this forum = what is the purpose of this forum? This is where the Euro Freaks hang out. You want to find out about anything European then ask in here. European climbers can discuss anything of value to their climbing community in here, e.g. the question why spandex is sexy or whether a real man must have a hammer and pitons. Who may post to this forum? Anyone! The sole restriction is about the topics as stated above, not about properties of the poster. Wherever and whoever you are, you can be a Euro Freak, too! What should I write in the title of the topic I post? Your topic will appear on the front page of RC.com, so please choose something sensible and easily understandable for a title. A title that will most probably not fit in this category is e.g. "WTF". A Good Thing (tm) would be if you could put a label for the matter you're adressing in front of the title, such as: - "TR:" for Trip Report (please consider posting these to the respective forum here on RC) - "News:" for all kinds of climbing news - "Accident:" for a report about accidents - "For Sale:" or "Wanted:" if you want to buy/sell anything and are not willing to ship from/to the US (in which case there would be another more appropriate forum on RC.com) Should I post to this forum when I'm looking for a climbing partner in Europe? No. Please post this topic to the International Partners Forum. Should I post in every forum just to cover my bases? No. This is considered spam, and thus not allowed on RC.com. You will annoy fellow users and raise the wrath of the moderators, which is not a good thing. Which language should I use to post here? One of the big advantages of the Euro Freaks Forum on RC.com is that most people here share some level of command of the English language. Posting in other languages is not forbidden if it's the only way you can express yourself, but English is definitely preferred. Using a different language excludes other people from this international forum, so please avoid that. Have fun, Heiko (Adapted from thomasribiere's FAQ in the International Partners Forum)

HI EVERYONE! :D So, was it a good surprise for the 1st anniversary of the Eurofreaks? ;) I was thinking about locking the Eurofreaks thread for historical reasons and open a new one here. Without echoing on the front page of course. What do you think?
