Figured we'd rotate the climbing Areas for the "Regular RC.com SoCal Users" who meet up each weekend to climb. Who's gonna show up at Williamson this weekend ??? I wanna get the RP on GBW, and maybe take another whirl on Hellraiser, as I'm sure Jay will be there.

I'll be there Saturday for sure. Sunday I have to work (and need a rest day, anyway). I'd like to climb Monday as well. Adam, you need to get on Carpe Diem, now that you're a 5.12 climber. It's a rite of passage, Dude. -Jay

If my shoulder is back in action by then I'll be there. I'm too lazy to deal with the approach just to hang out, like I did at Malibu last Sunday, if I can't climb. I should know how my shoulder is holding up by Thursday. Is not life a hundred times too short for us to bore ourselves? --FN

I might be able to swing Monday. I lead my first .12 Sunday, so I'm definately not a .12 climber. I onsight at about mid .11, so I'm an .11 climber, in my book at least. I will get on CD though, as I remember, no move is harder than .11, but it's sustained and overhung, requiring a grip of endurance.

TR? Who said anything about TR? Actually, the new moves on CD, though hard, are very well protected, and the falls are into air. -Jay

The crowd conditions might be ok this weekend. A large group of regulars is heading up to Mammoth for the weekend, so hopefully the Waterfall and London Walls won't be too crowded. -Jay

Jay & others - I'm curious, does Carpe Diem still have the first set of anchors intact or have they been removed? As in, can it be climbed to the first anchors at .11d still? josh

No, the original anchors on Carpe Diem have been removed. So, now you need a 60 m rope, and it's .12b. The new section is awesome, though, and the bolts are much closer together (thank god!) than they are on the old section. -Jay

Yep. You can't get to Wmson from either direction. Hwy 2 is closed 1 mi west of Wmson at the Krakta Ridge and again about 15 mi. east of Wmson. I had planned to park at Krakta Ridge and walk in, but a ranger told me, as Karen said, that I wouldn't be allowed to. -Jay [ This Message was edited by: jt512 on 2002-09-02 13:37 ]
