While bouldering in Boone last weekend I heard a rumor that the Grandmother area might be closed down due to some endangered vegetation/insects, etc. Is this just a rumor or is it true? Does anybody have any info on this subject?

I bouldered there on Fri the 21st and there was no indication of a planned closing, no signs are physical postings.

Mothers tour....hopefully so! Have NO clue what Captain Beefheart is up to now. Is he still alive!
As for the closure, I am up there every weekend and I haven't seen any signs either, but was curious if anyone had heard anything.
