here's some spots... Memorial boulder... Atop the hill above old truckee, visible from the freeway on the right as you head east, has a gazebo on top and a stairwell descent. great problems, bring a pad. Split rock... Inside the Donner memorial across from the campground pond. If your heading east, get off at the first main truckee exit, there's a chevron and 76 right there... now right here, in the summer, you can go straight and go past the gas stations and keep following the road til it cuts left sorta and turns to dirt, follow it it around til you see a gate on your right go through that gate and keep going about 1/3 mile or so, youll see the pond on your right and a smaller boulder with a few problems, keep going and split rock will appear on your left. Or...back to the freeway exit... you can go right and drive about 1/4 mile and turn left into the donner memorial and pay 5- to get in, follow the road around to split rock. you can also camp in here, but its not free. Try Dl Bliss state park too, along west shore, near rubicon... awesome bouldering in three different zones. From tahoe city going south on 89, if you get to emerald bay, you went too far, but not by much. "rock" on! //Sulli
