A 3:30 minute-13mb video of Buck Mountain this past spring. Gramps and I spent a couple frustrating weeks skiing globally warmed glop in the Tetons. Getting skunked on a bunch of 'almosts' due to high temps and minimal refreezes.

On our first attempt on Buck, we started from the Taggart Lake trailhead. We had to start there because we had a motorhome for transportation, and you can't take motorhomes to the right trailhead. So at 2am, we naively left from Taggart, thinking we would just slog through the woods to Buck. No dice. At 4am, nowhere near Buck, we decided to turn around and go back to bed, dejected, depressed, pissed, and embarrassed.

A couple days later, we borrowed a friends truck and got to the right trailhead at 3am, and found ourselves on the summit four hours later. This time facing absolutely perfect conditions, not glop. It was our best day in the Tetons that trip.

Buck Mtn. Route is obvious.

Excellent video! Makes me wish that I hadn't gotten pissed and sworn off skiing many years ago!

Nice!

What kind of ski/trekking pole was that with the ice axe head on it?
