This summer I climbed this route on a day where I also soloed the North ridge of Mt. Conness. Yeah, it's possible to do both in a day. While the climbing was enjoyable, kinda like hiking on all fours, the descent was horrific! Anyone who goes off to do this route should really consider bringing shorty gaiters, and a great sense of humor, because the descent almost ruins the climb. When I finally got down I vowed never to set foot on that mountain again! Of course, I'm thinking of it again already. If you go, be prepared for a mini-epic!

I had the same experience. Soloing up was a lot of fun, and the descent was a drag/slog/sandy mess. It would be better to downclimb the thing.
