I've been travelling to the valley reguarly lately. I usually check out where Pete's ledge is on Lunar Eclipse. He got rained on September 4th and 6th. I'm sure he was fine since the wall is still overhanging there and Pete's not known for the fast and light approach. Probably had to just chill on his ledge playing with his wee-wee. I snapped a shot of his ledge from the meadow after the storm cleared. He was on pitch 12. It joins Zodiac after a couple pitches so he was past most of the hairball sections. See the photo.

Great shot, mate.

Yeah, I saw Pete playing/cuddleing with Wee Wee on the the fourth pitch, when I went up to say hello to my bro, on Zodiac.

The pitch in the photo was the same pitch that I neglected to tell Brian McCray about the huge block. Yeah, I had just climbed the route with Chongo and Jose and noticed a dangerous block that I tried to hook on.

Well, when me and Brian did Plastic, it shared that pitch and he peeled the thing.

AAArrrrrgghhh, Brian was whippin' through the air as a HUGE block was sent to a sloping ledge that we had been on just hours before.

GRIPPPPPPPINNG!!!

What a bitchen' piece of rock!!

There is a huge picture of his wee wee on the bottom of his portaledge! Looks like a Canadian Maple Leaf Symbol from El Cap meadow.

Pete update: he is on the ground Topped out yesterday, and with the help of some buds, he and his Wee-Wee and his gear all made a safe descent. I am sure he and his crab are merrily filling themselves with porter as we speak

Tomorrow, as we know, is a Big Day in this country, but it is also Pete's birthday. So, Friends of Pete, if you can take a few minutes out of commemorative activities or watching news specials on TV (if that's what you'll be into), send some good Happy Birthday vibes to Dr. Pee'd On, turning the big 4-3.

~Hillary

and Karl, sweet picture!

Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed.

"Copy you down, Tranquility Base."

That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.

"Roger that, Tranquility Base."

ZMDZ ready for re-entry.

"Copy that. The Eagle has landed."
