Its that time of year again. Time to celebrate the great sport of climbing by attending Octoberfest. Time to salute another excellent rock climbing season. TIME TO GET SLOSHED AND HAVE SOME FUN WITH YOUR FELLOW CLIMBERS! My house, Saturday, 10-21-06, about 7:00 p.m. Bring your grog, bring a snack (if you want), and bring your best climbing story or anecdote of the year. We'll have a fire in the backyard again and a festive atmosphere. Everyone is welcome. I'll post the address when we get closer to the event.

Carnac predicts: - The semi-recovered semi-roasted patch of grass in Cindy's back yard will be baked to a thorough desert crisp, with the EPA declaring it a mini-superfund site. - Regional liquor distributors will see an unexpected increase in sales. - Tortilla chip and related snack sales will also rise in October. - A certain neighborhood will have a distinct odor of ethanol for a few days. - Sheep within a two-hour driving radius will be nervous. - Front range crags will see lighter than normal traffic on the morning of 10/22/06. - A good time will be had by all. (even those who wake up under the piano with limited recall of the previous hours)

Great Idea! I'm up for climbing that day. How do you feel about trad or are you thinking a group thing of clipping bolts? What does everyone else want to do?

I will for sure be there if climbing precedes the party. If no climbing opportunities develop I will try to be there. I just don't know what time I will make it back out of the mountains if I go hiking. (If I don't get to go climbing I will be going hiking. I was thinking Bluebird LK, Thunder LK, or Glacier Gorge.)

It is very likely that I will also join in on the F-U-N...that being said, if anyone would like to carpool down from the Boulder area (more specifically, Lafayette), let me know...meaning, I am willing to drive because my vehicle gets stellar gas mileage and I'll puke if I am anyone other than the driver 8^) If you happen to be on the way there, you can hop in, too...seating is limited. PM me if you are interested.

The weather forecast this Saturday is for rain AND snow. So, unless we plan to ski 5.12 like Vince, I think we're hosed for outside climbing. I suppose we could go to the gym. GAAAAHHHHHHH.

Definitely. Twice even. BTW, are you coming to Shelf? As for circa 1980 fashions; they're coming back. Tight straight leg jeans are starting to appear. You remember, the kind that gives you an hourglass figure except backwards. Little top, big middle, little feet. Ugh. I think I'll go vomit now.

Bring some beer or whatever you want to drink and a snack (if you want). Lisa (nextascent) started a biner tree back in 2004. Its made of biners from climbers as far away as Europe, Iraq, and Canada. Not to mention all the Colorado locals who donated their biners. As time has passed, occasionally, someone will add another biner to the tree. If you have an old biner that needs a home, please bring it along and hang it on the tree. http://i11.photobucket.com/...ers2005/e326eddb.jpg
