really nice 50m 10.5 bluewater rope. this rope has never been cut or taken a leader fall. just used for 3 seasons of toproping. ebay # 230040946571

Lots of uses for blown-out rope. Boating, scount troops, ice farming, MACRAME... I've sold two old ropes on EBay and will shortly put up another. (60m x 10.5 Mammut Flash, totally retired.)

Nothing wrong with buying a retired rope on the cheap as long as you don't use it for life-critical functions...as mentioned, plenty of stuff you can do with an old rope.

It's not so much the selling a used rope, as selling a used rope in the same category for serviceable equipment to someone who will likely use the rope for climbing, that is irresponsible. If someone is selling a rope that is retired why does the brand matter? That would only matter to someone who would be using it for life saving purposes.
