It took her less than five years (4year& 4 months) and she had a full year of work terms.


Changing your major doesn't help your cause, but I'd have to think if you were spending more time on your studies on the weekend than hanging out with your dad, changing majors and retaking classes wouldn't be in the equation.

Then agian some people just aren't cut out for University.

i'm not cut out for university. I f---ing hate it. But I have to get a degree at this point. I have to get something or this whole endeavor was just a waste of time. And i'm trying to do that now.

Sometimes you just need to cut your losses.

You can do three more years of school and hopefully get a degree, then do something totally not what you went to school for. Is that making the most of your situation?

Regardless of what you end up doing if you learn from it, its not a total waste of time.

Brent, have you ever though of taking some time off from university and sorting out what you really want to do?

You're so totally focused on getting a degree that you're loosing sight of what else is out there. If you really don't know what you want to do you have to get out there and try different things. I was lucky that I didn't find engineering bad. You're trying different things, but they're just variations on each other.

I have also thought that I want to get on with things - get out of school and get a damn job to make some money.

Isn't it ironic that if you would have just buckled down at the start and really worked hard you would be nearly finished?


With the cycle you are in you are you may likley never get out until you make the commitment to whatever it is you really want to do. You won't do that until you decide what it is YOU really want to do, not mom, not dad, not val, but maybe chossy and GG.

Truthfully if you are really motivated to get it done, a 4 year degree can be done in less time.

yeah, you do it in the summer or you take more classes during the semester or both.

I can't do that. I have to, HAVE TO, work in the summer, and even taking 4 classes a semester gets me stressed out and depressed.

So you are thinking that clearing vegetation would increase soil moisture? That seems counterintuitive.

Every thesis sounds cool when it's snazzed up with fancy semantics. Basically, he could have written: "Does pulling up weeds make it wetter? I think so..."
