I just tried uploading a 600kb topo photo, only to receive a 504 error after waiting for about 2 minutes with practically no upstream network activity. I also tried with a 180kb photo, with the same result. A 40kb pic finally worked. I have no problems uploading large files as attachments to emails via webmail clients (e.g. hotmail), so this is definitely a bug here on RC.com I was really excited to see that I could finally upload decent sized topo pics, only to discover that it doesn't bloody work...........

Consider this a "bump". My last attempt at loading a topo photo (the 40kb one) was apparently approved, because it had finally become visible (no email or other indication though). So, I figured, "great, now is my chance to try to edit it, and upload the bigger version". Yeah, right. There is no longer a way to edit a photo (the image itself) once it has been uploaded! Why!? I had to delete it, and start from scratch. And, I still can't upload anything of any size..... THIS IS A SERIOUS BUG, WHY WAS IT NOT PICKED UP DURING BETA TESTING!? On a side note, once a photo has been uploaded (or a route submitted), they drop into a black hole until they suddenly appear. Could we have the "pending" again? I have been trying really hard to remain positive, and find things that are new and good, or have been retained that were good to begin with.....but it is really hard! I like the spell checker, the Google map for locating crags, and the ability to upload large topos (once it works) but so far that has been it. I can think of 3 times as many things that used to work and were good that have now been completely removed (I know, I know, "new code base".....). DDT, would it be possible to post up a bug list, so we know what is being worked on?

Well, the good news is.....this is only a bug when I am behind the proxy server at work. From home, I can upload large topo photos with no problem. Now, I am wondering why I have this problem with this site, but not others (including the 'old' site)..... You guys must have sort of weird setting that doesn't like our proxy server.
