In some forums the "Mark All Read" link does not show up, even though there are new posts in the forum. Based on a limited sample size, it appears that the "mark all read" link doesn't appear when when there are new posts in existing threads, but no new threads. Jay

This is exactly what I was complaining about.

It is really messing with the ability to follow threads I want to. I should be able to mark things read. The only time the choice appears now is when someone starts a new thread.

Hey Jay, The "mark all read" link will and should appear at the forum level - that is, when you view al the threads in the forum, you should see it at the bottom of the page. So, you can mark all threads in that forum as "read". It will also appear at the "category" level (the very top level) - when you view a list of all the forums. So you can mark everything in all the forums as "read" It will howver NOT appear when you are inside and actual thread, reading the posts. You can not mark an individual threrad as "read". Let me know if that is consistent with what you are seeing.

To be effective, it really needs to be inside where you can see the topics.

The link fails to appear when there are no unread threads in a forum, but there are unread posts within threads in that forum. Thus, when there is no unread thread in a forum, there is no simple way to mark as read all unread posts in that forum. Make sense? That said, like the previous poster, I would like to have a "mark all posts read" link at the thread level as well. Jay

In reply to: To be effective, it really needs to be inside where you can see the topics. Exactly, unless I'm missing something there is no way to tell when looking in a particular forum (campfire for example), which threads have new posts since you've left. You may know that Campfire has had 20 new posts since you've been there last, but those could all be at the top 1 thread, or the top 20 could each have 1 new post. Edit: nevermind, after going back, hitting the "mark all read" button, and then going into a forum - you can tell by the icons, although you have to look close, at the yellow folder behind the front one. BTW: is there a way to turn off the new post/thread notice for forums which we don't care about - say, the bouldering forum for example. It would just make it easier to see that red notice on forums we care about.
