Hey charley, I wouldn't want that either Smile

Where and how is this happening? Feel free to attach a screen shot if needed.

Cheers,

This also happens when you float over the pictures and get the preview image.. if it's in Gallery mode the ones along the side get messed up by the ads..

if i remember i'll try to screen shot it when i get home

I mentioned this wayyyy back and was supposed to be looked at. It's happened ever since the change-over. With any gallery menu.

Actually if you look at peoples photos in a list, when you hover over the photo the preview is under the text of the photo too.

Almost like the ads have a bring to front property. I guess ads have priority.

I don't even know what a screen shot is let alone how to attach one. Click photos, click on a photo thumnail, when the full size photo appears an advertisement to advertise on rockclimbing.com drops down. It says something like
reach

out of the dark

advertise on rockclimbing.com

It was still happening a cpl min. ago.

I did have the same thing happen once, but have thankfully never had it again.
Anyway.......
1) a "screenshot" is an actual picture of what you see on your screen.
2) to make one (assuming you are using Windows), find the PrintScrn/PrtSc/something-like-that button on your keyboard. Press it! Now open Paint (Start->Programs->Accessories->Paint), and press Ctrl+v (Edit->Paste). Save the image as a JPG.
3) to attach the file to your next post, simply look down from where you are typing and use the "Attachment: " field.

See below for an attached screenshot of what viewing a photo *should* look like.

The screenshot should indicate some of this, but it would probably also be helpful to know:
1) what operating system you are using (Windows 95/98/2000/XP, etc)
2) what browser and version you are using
3) what your screen resolution is

Here are a couple of screen shots illustrating the problem in two areas that I am aware of. Viewing peoples photo comments. Viewing Top Rated Pics.

The first example the text is over the pic.

The second example the advertisments are over the pic.

Kachoong, we are aware of the instances where the pop-up preview goes "under" the comments or ad. I would fix this in a heartbeat if I knew how... have tried different things and there is some funky behaviour in different browsers. It's definitely not "by design". Ads don't have "preference" over anything, least of which rc.com content Smile

If someone has a solution, PM me.

Just to add a little here. We've tried setting z-levels for the components via CSS, we've looked at the JS on those pages (it doesn't happen everywhere). We're certainly open to some suggestions. Smile

Kachoong's second example is what I am talking about.
If you look at individual pics it is worse, or it covers more of the pic. I have no idea how to fix it. I can barely use a comp.
