rc.com is sorry to inform you that at this time the suggestion box is full. We are no longer taking any suggestions or complaints, so you can go stuff it somewhere else. We're tired of all the pissing and moaning. Go F yourself.

zozo, the S&F forum is right there, you might want to refresh your browser or log in and out again. I have had M&E disappear a couple of times because I came on just as something was being chaged in the database by the coders. Maybe that is what happened to you? -F

I KEED, I KEED Well, one thing I've noticed is that S&Q hasn't echoed on the FP since the changeover (hasn't kept it from being the most active forum besides community, though). Sup with that?

That is actually the same joke I made when I couldn't find the forum... I hadn't noticed about S&F, I didn't think it echoed in the old one... I'll get back to you on that one. -F

It's entirely possible that the list of topics on the FP rotates, and I just happen to miss when S&Q threads echo there, but I don't think so. As it is the list of threads that echo to the FP is entirely too short, which really downplays the importance of the forums (the single most valuble user-driven feature here, IMNSHO). S&Q is of especial interest to users because if (and I do say IF) their input is going to be counted, it's going to come out of S&Q threads. The S&Q threads NEED to echo to the FP.

When I am not signed in, I notice suggestions and questions doesn't even show up on the forums list. Injuries and accidents, which has been deemed members-only, still shows up in the listing, but the link is not active. S&Q doesn't show up at all, not even an inactive link. I seem to recall it being there a few days ago. Weird...

You are correct Hillary... It was viewable to guests just a couple days ago, as I was browsing it while not logged in. Now the forum has been hidden from the view of guest, and this has to have been done on purpose through the Admin panel. Curious as to the reason for this... Nothing to hide in that forum, as far as I can tell, as Suggestions and Feedback are shown on dz.com, and were here until very recently. Reason ???

It was in response to an issue you brought up Adam... there seems to be a bug that lets guests vote on polls in the forum, even thought the forum is supposed to be "read only". Check this. DDT

I'm replying to both threads because only one of them can be seen by guests. That's some flimsy rationale. A poll bug? Uh-huh. Back when, polls could be voted on only once per registered user and S&Q was open to lurkers and guests. And polls are not exclusive to the S&Q forum- I just went to a random forum, gear heads, and at the top of the forum listing, I clicked a button called "create poll" and it allowed me to make a poll. So maybe you should hide gear heads too. I mean, it's not full of criticism but it does have that weak link of allowing poll ballot box stuffing! Gotta fix that. Now, I'm sure somebody will trot out the tired "tinfoil hat!!!!!!11" line, but it sure looks to me like hiding the suggestions forum is to, uh, HIDE SOMETHING. Like criticism. Like pages and pages of people calling you two out for wrongs real and perceived. There's not a whole lot of back-slapping going on in the S&Q forum these days, although some DZ folks and buddies have made a valiant effort. I'm not sure how to spell "disingenuous" so maybe somebody else can post that up...

I absolutely believe that it was turned off for those reasons (voting issues). I also believe that its a great secondary benefit that no-one in the public will see that the owners are being taken to task on many issues. I also believe that the end result will be glacier like movement to fix the problem of people being able to vote multiple times. Just a hypothesis. Comments from the green or red people? where is this on the priority list? Mitt AKA mulder. Putting foil hat back on. etc said it for ya ma so we don't need to hear it.

I've opened the forum again to guests. The bug allowing them to vote has not been fixed yet, however it has been logged. It is not currently a top priority, so I can't tell you when it will be fixed. I'm waiting for feedback from Alex at Gossamer threads. DDT

DDT Forgive the 'cross posting', as I am just following behind you Daniel, and doing the same copy and paste: So are you stating that guests can only vote to polls in the S&F forum, and that the bug is limited to this forum ??? Please answer this, as your 'action' and reply imply this. If not, then it really appears that you are trying to hide a negative perception of your 'investment' from public view, plain and simple. Note that your reply to this issue has a link to a thread that is 'hidden' (its in S&F) from the view of any guests who may be reading your reply, thus they cannpt follow it. Oooops !!!
