I've been watching the news program Al Jazeera for about a month now, I think it's a truly amazing network. They have one show, called "the listening post" that takes a major world event, and shows media from around the world reports it. It's worth a look!

Yep

Aljazeera's ok. The western media (particularly fox news) has been trying to make it out to be a propoganda boogyman. But essentially it's just another 24 news network trying to carve out a niche in the global market.

Another good one is Euronews. I used to watch it when I lived in Morocco. They would take broadcasts from various channels around Europe and patch them together as an hour long news cycle that would slowly morph as the day progressed and new stories came in. It was good because you got stories that came from all of these different countries/perspectives.

Eurosports was a good one too. They showed rollerblade races down summertime bobsled tracks. Almost made street luge look like a real sport.

Keep in mind that over 60% of american media is owned by less than 3 people. Of course they would demonize an outside network, if for no other reason than profit. News in america has become entertainment, not information. I consider that wrong.

Would that be two people? Or one? Or zero? 2.8?

So, which two people own "60% of american media "?

I doubt two entities (persons, corporations, coalitions) own "60% of american media ". Rupert Murdoch is the biggest name I can think of and he owns about 30% of the parent company for Fox, FoxNews and the NY Times.

Please enlighten me.

I'll even offer some names to help you out.

NBC-Universal
News Corporation
Time Warner, Sony

I thought it was 5 people and that they met tri-annually at a secret country mansion in CO, known as "the Meadows."
