At the Rock climbing and Rapelling area off BIG PINE RD. There are at least 3 routes. They are glued in bolts but look like they are in great condition. It takes a moderate drought to dry out the chossy wall that they lie on (or dry cold winter conditions). Just from looking at the climbs, one is up a slabby dihedral all the way up to the top where it gets steeper and a bit more like a chimney. The others are bit confusing If i can recall correctly. They zig and zag across a chossed slabby face. For reference these climbs are located in the SIX CRACK AREA. I don't even know if these are legal to lead. Check with the rangers first.

I know of some sport routes with super stiff grades...bolted and really freak'n hard. What grades are you capable of climbing. Where do you live? I may inform you of some routes....pm me.

The Libson Rock Quarry does seem to be the one place people know about.
I'm pretty sure the bolts in the Hocking Hill are ILLEGAL. So please DO NOT contact the Rangers about this. Climb them at your own risk. There is much more to enjoy at this crag anyway.

As previously stated Logtown Quarry in lovely Lisbon OH (I kid about the lovely) is a good place to Sport Climb. I have not been in about 4 years but it is maintained by an avid group of local climbers. They have a guide online so you can check out what it has to offer http://www.geocities.com/logtownguide/. They have climbs that range from 5.4 to 5.12. There are several very good climbs. Although, everything is one pitch. What do you expect it is Ohio. The regulars are very nice and always willing to help, as long as you leave your ego at home. Also, make sure you save time to hit the Steel Trolley for dinner!

Those bolts are actually placed for winter ice climbing routes. That whole area gets decent ice during the winter, and some guys placed them in order to safely climb that ice.
If you walk about the rest of the Hocking State forest you will find some more bolted routes, most are pretty mild. Although most of the area is just set up for top roping due to the rock type.

There are also some in lake vesuvius in southern ohio not far from ironton ohio.
Some bolted runs, some cracks.

Be sure to hit up the Logtown quarry and if you see any students from Franciscan University of Steubenville there please tell 'em Anthony Niles says hey!
That aside, it is a great climb spot I have done it for years and would say the best place to start is on the website where you can get a map.

if you're gonna go south from log town the New is way closer.
Has anyone climbed at hocking hills? I checked it out once and it seemed like there's a lot more rappelling areas than climbing. Everything was covered in moss, didn't look like it got climbed at all. Maybe i was in the wrong spot and didn't see the whole area.....anybody?

Weclimb at Hocking on a regular. There are several different areas of good climbing and even more areas that are dirty, mossy and just plain crappy. im always looking for people that can climb on Mon and tues. PM me if your interested in checkingit out.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste time climbing the miserable crap at HH. Just keep driving south to the New or the Red.

Hocking Hills is climbed. I have been climbing there for years and have seen plenty of other climbers there also. The problem with Hocking Hills is nothing is marked so if you do not know the area its hard to find climbs. Granted its not world class climbing but there are some really good climbs in Hocking Hills. Yes I have climbed at the Red but will take Hocking and my half hour drive to get there over a nine hour round trip to the Red about any day of the week.

As for the original question. Only top roping is allowed in HH. If you just want sport climbing I would advise you look else where.
