New Corax?

So I'm looking to replace my aging Petzl harness and heard from our local gear store that Petzl would introduce a redesigned Corax that would be more suitable to racking trad gear....(mostly gunks climbing). I have an older version with the sport clipping gear loops, and find my cams, etc. getting all jumbled up as well as just not having enough room. The latest 'Climbing' reviewed several harness and rates the Corax the best. The gear loops are more traditional and hopefully will accommodate trad gear better.Their picture used in the review is different from that still used on Petzl's site. Does anyone know when the new version will be available to the public?

I have no idea, maybe you could e-mail Petzl and just ask?

The corax harness is the best harness i've ever had. I only had it for a short time beucase there was a flaw in the sewing and the belay loop started to rip. so I had to return it. But the gear loops on the Corax have little ridges to keep your gear from getting jumbled and they are alswo more stiff then your average gear loop. it is a very confortable harness and I highly recomend it.

as for online pics, Climbing.com hasn't yet posted the article about harness review. You can see a difference in the gear loops in the picture used in the printed mag.

I have climbed with the Corax for several years now (bought one the week that it hit the US). I got on El Cap the day after Skinner was killed on the leaning tower and that spooked me sufficiently to get a new harness. I was so happy with my old Corax that I bought a new one and the gear loops appear to be the same, but haven't inspected it all that closely. It's a little annoying that the gear loops are cocked forward, but the rest of the harness is so chronic that I'm willing to deal with it. Once you get a racking system dialed, it's pretty easy to sort through your gear and pull a piece quickly. Bottom Line: As a trad climber, I highly recommend this harness.

yup- you can check the OR Summer Market article to see what it'll look like. The biggest change is the all mesh swami....breathable and light.

I'm hoping to get this product reviewed, and if i do, expect the review sometime in late Feb/early March.

I went to go look at that article and the text is F'ed up pretty bad, and I didn't see a single picture...

It looks like the large size font used, has size 8 or smaller spacing, so it all overlaps. All of the pics seem to be missing.

I loaded the page in firefox and IE....didn't help.

Let me know if/ when it gets fixed, I'm interested now!

For what it's worth, I just got an e-mail from Petzl saying that the new Sama and Adjama harnesses will be available in March....
