I’m posting these directions because I tried getting in touch with the person that posted the description for this area, but I had some difficulties. So, I found the boulders myself, and since they are not on private property, I think that anyone interested in climbing here should have an equal opportunity. The author of the description was worried about the impact and destruction of this climbing area. He/she has a good point and it would be terrible to see this climbing area get trashed because of people disrespecting the land. When it comes down to it, please just be courteous to the land, DON’T LITTER, and it wouldn’t kill you to pick up any litter that might have been left from parties before you. Directions: This area is located north of Williamsport just off of state route 14 very near a small town called Ralston. Turn onto Thompson Street from state route 14 once you enter Ralston. This road bears to the left and leads to a fork in the road; the left fork is McIntyre Road and the right fork is Rock Run Road. Bear right onto Rock Run Road. As you drive down this road, you will notice some boulders on the left hand side of the road. At this point, there is a small pull-off on the right. If you continue down the road, you will come to a bridge that crosses over a small creek. This is the Old Miners Trail area. There are some pull-offs near the bridge where you can park. The Old Miners Trail is a marked path which is easy to locate on the left side near the bridge. Most of the boulders are around these areas. Enjoy exploring the area and finding the boulders and most importantly, have fun!

i have yet to be there but once i had seen that these boulder fields sat on public land, i added the gps coordinates that would get one to Rock Run Road, hope they were accurate, they were had from map work not a sat hit at the location to be specific as to access: it is Tiadaghton State Forest and the McIntyre Wild Area under the DCNR(PA) the state forest trail Old Logger's Path is adjacent, up the ridge on the right side of the road, there is also a rock formation called Band Rock that is identified on the map at the end of McIntyre Road, which is the forest road that bears left of off Rock Run Road there is also a motorized campsite along Rock Run Road (its marked on the map) that one can get a permit from the office to use, and backpack camping is free in Tiadaghton SF, outside of the natural area, no permit required for an overnight, and out of fire season, and by following the regs for distance from the road and group size there is two FREE public usage maps and more camping info that can be obtained from the district office: District Forester Tiadaghton State Forest 423 E. Central Ave. South Williamsport, PA 17702 (570)327-3450 fd12@state.pa.us ask for: Tiadaghton State Forest Map Old Logger's Path Map *and motorized campsite info and locations also from the USGS one could obtain the RALSTON quadrangle(1:24,000), the area will be in the extreme southeast corner of the map hope to explore the place soon myself and draw some map sketches of the boulder fields to post and see what Band Rock is all about have fun and leave no trace happy trails and safe climbing!

Rock Run is a beautiful area, used to camp there a lot. If you follow the logging road to the top of the ridge there are lots of nice fern fossils lying around. The place is also crawling with salamanders in the summer. Really nice place.

there is a ton more rock around that area. If you hike up onto the ridges there is a lot more rock than what is just visable off the main trails etc. Boulder Mountian West of williamsport is by far the best spot up that way. There are 40-foot monster boulders there ~RH
